Pretty pastel roses

Hello, I am so sorry it has been so long since my last post. Things have been very busy around here the past few months and time seems to be getting away from me so very quickly. Anyway, this morning I was sitting at the table with my boys having breakfast and gazing upon my David Austin garden roses with the most wonderful intoxicating smell....oh how I wish I could share the fragrance with you all.

A new bed for moi!

Do you get tired of your decor? We had the same bed for about 6 yrs and felt it was time for a change. We have always had a queen size bed but thought it was time to fill up the room with a big comfy king size. As happy as I was to get a big comfy bed I was somewhat disappointed to find there are hardly any vintage king size bed frames around. So...walking around the market I came across a beautiful wrought iron fly screen door, measured it up and guess what??? The perfect fit!

The finished project...

and a little vignette in our room which is forever changing...

Wishing you a wonderful weekend xo

Yummy Raspberry & White Chocolate Cheesecake

I love raspberry cheesecake and it seems so many of you out there share the same love. As promised over on my facebook page I am sharing this yummy recipe with you all.

You will need-

500g (1 pound) softened cream cheese
155g (5 ounces) white chocolate melted
2tb spoons honey
1 1/2 cups (225g) frozen raspberries

1. Grease a 8 inch x 12 inch rectangle pan, line base and sides with baking paper extended 2 inches over the sides.
2. Process biscuits until fine. Add butter and mix till combined. Press mixture evenly over base of pan.
3. Preheat oven to 140C/280F
4. Beat eggs and sugar in a small bowl with electric mixer till thick and creamy.
5. Beat cream cheese in medium bowl with electric mixer until smooth, gradually beating in egg mixture. Beat in melted chocolate and honey.
6. Toss frozen raspberries in cornflour and place evenly on the base of the pan. Pour cream cheese mixture over raspberries and spread evenly.
7. Bake for about 50-60mins.

Cappuccino by candlelight

Having a late night this evening...well its 12.15am now so its morning. Spent a few hours outside by candlelight talking with hubby about our plans for the backyard. Lots of ideas to think about.

My favorite place to be sitting on our porch enjoying a cappuccino...

and listening to the trickling water....couldn't be any more relaxing.

Decorating with old cable spools

Happy January to all my lovely friends! I am sorry it has been sometime since my last post but we are currently on summer holidays and I have been enjoying having my boys home.
Recently I noticed allot of pics floating around on re-purposed cable spools, so I asked my hubby if he could get his hands on some, after all he is an electrician. I was excited when he came home with this!

After a lot of measuring, fiddling, patching and painting this is how it came up...

I just love my new table/bookshelf that now sits on the front porch featuring my collection of vintage French novels at the moment but they wont be staying out there just in case.

I've been enjoying my new piece this afternoon sitting out on the porch listening to the trickling water & reading my favorite book...Vintage by Nina.

Last but not least sitting on my new cable spool table is the prettiest little French mustard jar (from Time Worn Style) filled with fresh David Austin Mary Magdalene roses.

Enjoy your day xo

P.S. I have loads to share this coming week...recipes as well as a lovely giveaway I was lovely enough to win just before Christmas.
